Fees explained

When each fee falls due

A OK Credit Repair does not charge an upfront service fee. The success fee and what counts as success are agreed with you in writing before work begins, and the fee is ordinarily split across two success stages.

Typical fee timeline

About 8 to 10 weeks end to end

  1. Stage oneNo fee due

    Week 0

    Free credit file assessment

We review your credit file and tell you in writing what we believe can and can't be challenged.

  2. Stage twoNo fee due

    Week 0–1

    Agreement signed, work begins

Fees and success criteria are agreed in writing first. Nothing is payable at this point.

  3. Stage threeNo fee due

    Week 1–3

    Documents requested and reviewed

We request and review the critical documents relating to your case from lenders and other relevant parties.

  4. Stage fourNo fee due

    Week 3–6

    Argument finalised, negotiation begins

We finalise our argument and negotiate for removal or correction on your behalf, keeping you updated throughout.

  5. Stage five50% fee due

    Week 6–7

    Lender confirms removal in writing

The first half of the agreed success fee becomes payable once written agreement to remove or correct the listing is received.

  6. Stage six50% fee due

    Week 8–10

Updated credit file provided to you

The remaining half becomes payable when we provide your updated credit file confirming the removal or correction.

Timings are typical and approximate only — every file is different. The first 4–6 weeks are ordinarily unpaid work. Once a removal agreement is reached there is usually a further 2–4 weeks while the credit reporting body updates the file. If a success stage is not achieved, the fee for that stage is not payable.

What affects the price

Why fees start at $1,200 rather than sitting at a flat rate

How many listings are involved

Each listing is assessed and disputed on its own merits, so a file with several defaults takes more work than a single listing.

Age of the listing

Older listings often require more document tracing, and the records held by the credit provider may be harder to obtain.

Whether the credit provider has already been contacted

If a dispute has already been raised and refused, the matter usually needs a more detailed argument to progress.

Hardship and dispute history

Matters involving financial hardship arrangements, disputed debts or personal circumstances require additional documentation and correspondence.

Multiple credit reporting bodies

Where the same listing appears with more than one credit reporting body, each has to be dealt with separately.

Commercial versus consumer listings

Commercial listings, including those affecting sole traders and small business owners, are governed by different rules and take a different approach.

Fees FAQ

Common questions about credit repair fees in Australia

How much does credit repair cost in Australia?
Credit repair fees in Australia vary by provider and by the complexity of the file. At A OK Credit Repair the credit file assessment is free, and default removal fees start at $1,200. More complex matters cost more, and the exact fee is confirmed in writing after your free assessment and before any fee-bearing work begins.
How much does it cost to remove a default?
Default removal fees start at $1,200. That is a starting point, not a quote — the final fee depends on the number of listings, the age of the listing, the credit provider involved and how much documentation the matter requires. You receive the exact figure in writing before you decide whether to proceed.
Are there any upfront fees?
No. A OK Credit Repair charges no upfront service fee and no monthly subscription. The assessment is free and success fees only become payable once an agreed success stage is achieved.
What does no win, no fee actually mean here?
It means the success fee is tied to agreed success stages. The first 50% becomes payable when the credit provider or credit reporting body confirms in writing that the agreed removal or correction will be made. The remaining 50% becomes payable when we provide your updated credit file confirming it. If a success stage is not achieved, the fee for that stage is not payable.
What happens if the listing isn't removed?
If we do not achieve an agreed success stage, the fee for that stage is not payable. A OK Credit Repair cannot guarantee the removal or correction of any particular listing, and we only agree to dispute a listing where there is a genuine, lawful basis to do so.
Could I do this myself for free instead?
Yes. You can request your credit report free of charge and ask the credit provider or credit reporting body to correct anything you believe is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading — they must investigate at no cost to you. Free financial counselling is available through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007. Our service is optional and paid, for people who would rather have it handled for them.

Before you engage us

You are not required to use a paid credit repair service. You can contact the relevant credit provider or credit reporting body directly and ask them to investigate or correct information at no charge, and free financial counselling is available through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007.

A paid credit repair service may not be appropriate where paying the fees would cause or worsen financial hardship.

A OK Credit Repair cannot guarantee the removal or correction of a particular listing, a particular credit-score increase, that your entire credit file will become clear, finance approval, a particular borrowing amount or a particular interest rate.

A note on results

Outcomes depend on the specific facts of each credit file. Past outcomes achieved for other clients are not necessarily indicative of future results. We will only agree to dispute a listing where there is a genuine, lawful basis to do so.
